Pre-School
I am looking for a pre-school to put Avery in next year. I would prefer a private one and 3 days a week. if any of you have any great recommendations for me I would love to hear about it and get the contact info from you. I am hoping it is not too late as I am learning many enroll earlier than this to get in. I have heard great things about Lisa Macentire but she is full. I would also like to learn about Kris Purcell if anyone out there has her info. Thanks everyone.

When Zofran Doesn't Cut It

I am noticing a trend with pregnancy. Unlike the first, full of exciting anticipation for each new stage of development, I dread what is coming. Been there done that. Each time it is less glorious than the last. This pregnancy is my worst yet. Granted I haven't been throwing up like I did with the first three but I wish I were. Maybe then I would feel better. Instead the nausea starts around noon and intensifies till it's fullest sometime around 8 o'clock and lasts pretty much till about 6 am. Sometimes it is so severe it will wake me from my sleep, or maybe that was Madelyn. And unlike the other pregnancies were even though I thought it wasn't possible to eat or I would lose it, still I did and it somehow made me feel better; not this time. Insurance covers 12 Zofran per 30 day period and in the past it has been sufficient because I half it. This time not even a whole one cutting it for me. Does anyone out there have any other remedies?
I Guess I Really Showed Him...
So yesterday Travis said something to me that really upset me. I wanted to grab the keys and leave for a day or two but I knew that was real mature so I didn't but when it came time for bed, I went and slept with Avery.
THE RESULTS=
Well, I don't think he even knew I was gone and I didn't hardly sleep from Avery's tossing and turning and kicking and I got a kink in my neck. So I guess I really showed him.

The new Aliante Theaters is doing a charity event Nov. 12-13 where they have all day movies for $2 and popcorn and drinks for $2. I believe it is for their grand opening. Of course I got all excited and thought that we should make a family night of it and it would be fun to take the kids for a theatrical experience. I heard good things about the movie so why not. I'll tell you why not. According to my penny pinching, money saving, but ever practical husband, we can get the movie at red box for $1 (plus tax) and the whole family can watch for cheaper and in the comfort of our own home. I wanted to say, "Way to ruin it hon. It is always more exciting in theaters, you are always the party pooper." But I went a long with it and it ends up he was right. The kids weren't at all interested. They talked, wined, and fought through the whole thing. Avery was upset that it didn't have any girls in it or princess'. So, if you have girls this movie might not make it. If you have boys, they'll probably love it. Travis and I really enjoyed it. It was cute and I'd definitely recommend it. However, we won't be taking our kids to the theaters for a couple more years or maybe ever with the price of a movie ticket being what it is these days.

Bedtime Woes: Continued
Madelyn is terrified of having the door closed so we tried the gate thing. I left the door open but the gate closed off her exit. She was getting up between 4 and 7 times throughout the night standing at the gate screaming. Which means I am up so that Avery and Daddy don't end up awake as well. So, after two nights, I closed the door. The poor baby cried herself to sleep but continued to get up about 7 times that night scared and crying. It took all my will power to ignore her. So by night 4 I got her a night light. So we could close the door but she wouldn't be frightened in the dark. Since then it takes her about an hour to fall asleep. She is playing, pulling all of the socks out of the drawers, looking at books, etc.,etc. There is a twin in her room. She insists that I tuck her in on the big girl bed, but when I go back to check on her she is in the crib. By two in the morning I will find her back in the twin and sometime around 5 she gets into the crib again. No wonder this girl is taking fantastic naps lately. Poor thing. Have I made a mistake with the night light? Is she going to set a bad pattern in which she can't sleep through the night anymore? This girl is driving me crazy. I get up more with her than I ever did with my newborns. I am tired enough form this pregnancy. I feel like a walking zombie.
PS- Don't forget to leave me you email. I plan on going private by the end of the week.

Bedtime Woes
When Avery turned two we decided it was time to put her in a big girl bed. I really didn't want to but Madelyn was going to be needing the crib in only a few months so we made the leap. I thought I would never survive. I remember sitting at the top of the stairs balling while Avery sat screaming in her bedroom because we had to close the door to keep her in. We would threaten to close the door or put up the gate if she got out of bed and it soon convinced her.
Well, here we go again. Madelyn has learned how to climb out of her crib. We are having serious problems because she isn't getting the fact that if gets out of bed we close the door. And she is furious that we keep closing the door. Madelyn is so tired and irritable from getting up an hour and a half early standing at the door screaming and going to bed an hour late standing at the door screaming. Nap-time is an issue now too. I am exhausted.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also, what is your opinion about sharing rooms? I would like Avery and Madelyn to share a room but I only have one queen bed that Avery currently sleeps in. I would like to keep the queen so that I have a place for company to sleep but is it too awkward to have the little girls share the same bed. Would that hurt or help my problem? I am afraid that Madelyn is such a wild sleeper that she will beat up Avery. I also worry that they will get each other up even earlier. What is your take?
