Potty Time: Toddler in Training

I have so many stories from our potty training experience but I will have to write them down another time. One quick one was that I must have been saying "I'm so proud of you!" a lot because Avery climbed into my bed a few days ago and proclaimed, "mommy, I so powed of you!".

Blessing Madelyn

How exciting it was to have so many friends and family gather together on Madelyn's blessing day to celebrate her arrival. We love you all.

Snow Canyon, Ut

One day when we were driving down the road Avery yelled to me, "Look Mom, a mountain!" Then she said, "I want to go climbing!" It is so exciting when you hear your kids finding excitement in the little things.
I was very excited to tell her that we were going to climb a mountain this week. She loved it and I did too. I spent much of my childhood in the St. George area and Snow Canyon has always been a favorite! It was fun to go back with my siblings and reminisce.

Following in your shoes...

When my sister and I were young we were very close but as we approached the teenage years to say we grew apart would be an understatement. We loathed eachother. I never thought we would be friends but she has become my best friend. I admire her so much.
This week the girls and I went to her home in St. George for one week. She is funny because she is terrified of having kids. She said to me, " I am so glad that you came. Every time I think I am ready to have kids you come and remind me that I am not." She doesn't know it yet but she is going to be an awesome mom. Little Avery absolutely adores her Aunt Shelley. She is Shelley's shadow. I love to see them play together. I love the picture above. Avery is wearing Shelley's shoes. I think Avery wants to be just like Shelley and I don't mind at all...

Sucker!

And then there is Grandma....Every time Avery sees Grandma she asks Grandma for a sucker and Avery always gets one because Grandma is a sucker! Even when I say "NO!" Grandma reassures Avery, "after Mom leaves!" I guess it is Grandmother's right. Grandma also buys all of the toys. She must be a kid at heart because she always picks the right toys. Avery is always fascinated with the toys Grandma picks out. And Grandma doesn't hold back check this out. This week while visiting my sister in Utah my mom bought Avery a swimming pool to play in but I insisted it was to cold for water. Every morning Avery would wake up and beg to play in the pool. On the third day my mom drove down to Walmart and spent over $100 on plastic balls to fill the pool with.

Told you she was a sucker!
